GOVT URGES NEWLY ENROLLED SCT BENEFICIARIES TO EMBRACE DIGITAL PAYMENT PLATFORMS
Following the successful scale-up of the Social Cash Transfer Programme, now reaching over 1.5 million beneficiary households nationwide, the Government has commenced the migration of beneficiaries from manual payment systems to digital payment platforms.
This transition forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, transparency, and convenience in the delivery of social protection services.
All newly enrolled beneficiaries are therefore urged to select a Payment Service Provider (PSP) of their choice through which they will receive their cash transfers. This shift is intended to ensure timely, secure, and more accessible disbursement of funds.
Available Payment Service Providers include Airtel, MTN, Zamtel, and Zoona. In addition, beneficiaries may opt for banking institutions such as First National Bank (FNB), Access Bank, Zanaco, Absa, Indo Zambia Bank, and Natsave.
Beneficiaries are further advised to visit their respective District Social Welfare Offices to provide the required personal details and complete the registration process. Social Welfare Officers will be on hand to offer guidance and support in selecting the most suitable payment option.
The Government remains committed to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind during this transition and encourages all recipients to fully cooperate with this important initiative.
