HH FREE EDUCATION POLICY CHAMPION
--------------------------------------------------
President Hakainde Hichilema apart from Zambia's founding father Dr Kenneth Kaunda, is the only President who saw the need to reintroduce Free Education in Zambia.
Indeed, the Republican President saw the need for that parent in Shangombo, Chavuma, Kaputa, Dundumwezi and many other rural outposts who was unable to send children to school because of school fees, an unfortunate situation that forced many children out of school.
However, more than 2.6 million children are now back in school as a result of the reintroduced Free Education Policy by the New Dawn Administration under the focused leadership of President Hichilema.
It's gratifying to note that the newly introduced School Feeding Program has also significantly helped reduce absenteeism in schools, as more learners now attend school.
Further, in an effort to accommodate the over enrollment of learners in schools, and make the learning environment conducive, government embarked on a robust infrastructure development by building more schools and rehabilitating old ones and equipping them with locally made desks.
It's also worth noting that government recruited over forty thousand teachers in an effort to improve the quality of education.
Institutions of higher learning now have access to reintroduced education bursaries and meal allowances.
All in all, President Hakainde Hichilema has demonstrated a strong commitment to promote free education and improve citizens' welfare.
