LUPOSOSHI TOWN COUNCIL CONCLUDES SITE HANDOVER OF CDF PROJECTS

The Lupososhi Town Council has successfully concluded the handover of sites to contractors in readiness for the commencement of various Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects.

The site handover exercise, conducted by the Department of Engineering Services, marks another important milestone in the district’s development agenda, as various projects are now set to take shape in communities across Lupososhi.

The projects handed over include:
1. Construction of a Health Post, Water Reticulation System and Staff House at Bulaya.
2. Completion of a 1x3 Classroom Block, Staff House and two VIP Toilets at Mato.
3. Completion of a Health Post, Staff House and Water Reticulation System at Chimbwi.
4. Provision of Solar Power at Chimbwi Primary School.
5. Provision of Solar Power at Witwishika Primary School.
6. Construction of two VIP Toilets at Sande and Lukolongo.
7. Construction of a 1x3 Classroom Block and Staff House at Nsapailla Primary School.
8. Provision of Solar Power at Lukolongo Primary/Secondary School.
9. Provision of Solar Power at Chanika Primary School.
10. Provision of Solar Power at Mutondo Primary School.
11. Construction of a 1x3 Classroom Block, Staff House and VIP Toilets at Twikatane Primary School.
12. Construction of a 1x3 Classroom Block and Staff House at Chimembe Primary School.
13. Construction of a Water Reticulation System at Chungu Mini Hospital.

The projects are expected to contribute significantly to improved education, healthcare, water supply and sanitation, and access to clean and reliable energy in Lupososhi District.

The Council remains committed to ensuring that CDF projects are implemented effectively and efficiently to improve service delivery and enhance the livelihoods of communities across the district.

LUPOSOSHI CONSTITUENCY RECEIVES BALLOT PAPERS AHEAD OF THE 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

Lupososhi Constituency has officially received ballot papers ahead of the 13th August 2026 General Election.

The arrival and receipt of the ballot papers were witnessed by the Returning Officer Mr. David Mbulo, Zambia Police, representatives of participating political parties, independent candidates, Civil Society Organisations, Faith-Based Organisations, the media, and other key stakeholders at Luwingu Civic Centre, in line with the Electoral Commission of Zambia's commitment to transparency and accountability.

Lupososhi District has a total of 65 polling stations, and the receipt of the ballot papers marks another important milestone in the district's preparations for polling day.

NOTICE OF THE ARRIVAL OF BALLOT PAPERS FOR THE 2026 GENERAL ELECTION

Lupososhi Town Council, through the Office of the District Electoral Officer, wishes to inform all registered political parties, participating independent candidates, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), Faith-Based Organisations, members of the media, and the general public that ballot papers for the 2026 General Election are expected to arrive on Monday, 3rd August 2026.

In line with the Electoral Commission's commitment to transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the electoral process, all interested stakeholders are invited to witness the receipt of the ballot papers.

The ballot papers will be received at Luwingu Civic Centre. The exact time of arrival will be communicated once it has been confirmed.

Your participation in witnessing this important electoral activity will help promote openness, transparency, and public trust in the conduct of the 2026 General Election.

URGENT PUBLIC NOTICE

POSTPONEMENT OF POLL STAFF TRAINING

Lupososhi Town Council, on behalf of the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), wishes to inform all shortlisted Poll Staff applicants who sat for the aptitude test that the Poll Staff Training, which was scheduled to commence today, Sunday, 2nd August, 2026, has been postponed until further notice.

A new commencement date will be communicated in due course.

The office of the District Electoral Officer regrets any inconvenience this may have caused.

DEO MONITORS POLL STAFF APTITUDE TESTS AS CANDIDATES UNDERGO ASSESSMENT

The District Electoral Officer (DEO), who is also the Council Secretary for Lupososhi Town Council Mr. Sydney Hamooya monitored the aptitude test exercise held at Luwingu Boarding School Dining Hall to ensure the recruitment process was conducted in line with the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) guidelines.

Lupososhi Town Council shortlisted a total of 538 candidates for the positions of Poll Staff. The aptitude tests were held at Luwingu Boarding School Dining Hall, and the exercise progressed smoothly.

The council ensured that every shortlisted candidate, whether from Nsombo, Mpasa, Chibaye or as far as Itandashi Ward, was given an equal opportunity to participate in this important national exercise.

The exercise was conducted in an orderly and transparent manner, with candidates turning up as scheduled to undertake the assessment.

Successful candidates will on Sunday 2nd August, 2026 commence their training upto Wednesday 5th August, 2026.

Lupososhi Town Council remains committed to supporting a fair, transparent and credible recruitment process in line with the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) guidelines as Zambia goes to the polls on 13th August, 2026.
