Sesheke Town Council Commissions New Classroom Block and Rehabilitated Girls' Dormitory under CDF.

Sesheke Town Council has commissioned a newly constructed 1×5 classroom block at Sesheke Day Secondary School and a rehabilitated girls' dormitory at Sesheke Boarding Secondary School, in a move aimed at improving the quality of education and creating a conducive learning environment for learners in the district.

The two projects were funded under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and form part of the Government's continued investment in strengthening education infrastructure across the country.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Sesheke District Commissioner, Mr. Alex Namenda, described the occasion as another milestone in Government's commitment to improving access to quality education through the Enhanced Constituency Development Fund.

"It is indeed pleasing to commission and hand over these two community-driven development projects, which will greatly improve the quality of education standards in the district," Mr. Namenda said.

Mr. Namenda noted that the newly constructed classroom block at Sesheke Day Secondary School will significantly increase the school's classroom capacity, reduce congestion, and improve the teacher-to-pupil ratio.

He explained that before the construction of the facility, the school faced serious challenges due to inadequate classroom infrastructure, resulting in learners attending lessons in overcrowded classrooms.
"The completion of this classroom block will provide pupils with a more conducive environment that supports effective teaching and learning," he said.

The District Commissioner further disclosed that the classroom block has been fully furnished with desks for all classrooms in line with the Presidential directive that no child should sit on the floor.

He explained that the rehabilitation of the girl’s dormitory became necessary after the dormitory roof had been blown off by strong winds as well as cracked walls and floors, making the facility unsafe for occupation.

"This is a true transformation. The facility will now provide safe, comfortable and dignified accommodation for our pupils. Improved accommodation will contribute positively to learners' welfare, concentration and overall academic performance," he said.

Meanwhile, Sesheke Town Council Secretary, Mr. Collins Simoonga, said the impact of the Enhanced Constituency Development Fund is visible across the district through the implementation of various developmental projects.

He cited the construction of classroom blocks, staff houses, health facilities, water projects and other community infrastructure as evidence of the transformative impact of the programme.

Mr. Simoonga assured members of the public that the Council remains committed to delivering quality, timely and cost-effective CDF projects that respond to the needs of communities.

"The Constituency Development Fund is a timely intervention that is transforming communities and accelerating development. As Council Management, we remain committed to implementing quality projects that will continue to improve the lives of our people," he said.

It's with heavy heart and tears that breaks all my hope to see this road's current status which stated deteriorating since early 2015 when western province was subjected to neglect by the then government or regime.

Fast forward to 2021 western province was promised of it's major roads the likes of this most important iconic, economical and social connect road to the main business supplies of this nations accounts.

It's sad seeing that even in the times of short promises and mitigations (elections time) this road is still nursing more of it's wounds and yet still carrying the very purpose of it's existence which is connecting Zambia's economy to the seas and world business hubbs and yet it's doing all this with tears of sands and dust.

Q1: WHERE DID WE GO WRONG

Q2: WHAT MISTAKE DID WE DO IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS.

Q:3 WHATS THE FUTURE OF THIS ROAD.

HON.ROMEO KANGOMBE WRITES

Greetings.

I listened to a brother and colleague from Tonse who questions, and not supporting the need to have an international airport in Barotseland.

It's unfortunate that my brother, a leader and advisor to the Mundubile group would be so reckless regarding the need to upgrade Mongu airport to an international standard.

Western Province/ Barotseland has alot of economical activities that unfortunately haven't been harnessed well due to poor long term infrastructure development which this administration is trying to resolve.

We have the second largest wildebeest migration kwa Liuwa National Park.
Bulozi has the best Tiger fish in Zambia and Southern Africa.
Bulozi has Sioma Ngweze National Park.
Bulozi has Timber Business.
Bulozi has rice production.
Bulozi has the potential to general power through wind mwa Barotse plans and many other untapped resources including mining.
Bulozi has alot fo cattle.

Hon Kafwaya needs to enrich himself with the importance of quality long term infrastructure development to harness development in any region of this country.

If this is what the Mundubile have in store, then colleagues are not even closer to leading this nation.

Barotseland for the longest has lacked behind because of leaders such as Kafwaya who could embezzlement Eurobond funds which were meant to recapitalize mulobezi railway which has many economic potentials ranging from Agriculture, i.e livestock and crops production.
Furthermore, we have Mulanga Park in Mulobezi which would have also seen many professional hunters and safaris through that corridor.

I do not question his capabilities as can be seen from his careless statement, simply put, he lacks leadership and can't be trusted with such a huge responsibility..

To my people ba Bulozi, this is the time you have to evaluate the kind of people that seek your support, do they have your best interest kapa ki NOTO!

Nikandelezi shangwee muñaka.
Wamina!

Kangombe wa Sikosi.
