Is this the Zimbabwe we want? Of heartless leaders. A government that is happy to see its people homeless? All that the people want is land to build a home. They have or can toil for their own resources. In South Africa for example, people protest for the government to provide houses. Here we have an industrious people trying to better their circumstances, and the government is happy to demolish. Now they have the resources, but when it comes to collecting rubbish the same graders are not available. Its time we opened our eyes. The power to change this is in our own hands. Let's vote in numbers. REGISTER AND VOTE. Your VOTE counts.

MDC Councillor dies of suspected alcohol poisoning
MDC Alliance Councillor for Karoi Urban Ward 4, Lovender Chiwaya, was on Friday morning found dead some four houses from his house with a half-eaten roasted maize cob in one hand and a bottle of illicit brew in the other.

Real cause of death is yet to be ascertained but Police are treating it as a suspected murder case.

Speaking to ZimReport on condition of anonymity, one of Chiwaya’s neighbours said the deceased was popular in Ward 4 as a jovial character who got along well with everyone regardless of political affiliation. The source added that when Chiwaya left home about 4 days ago, the wife did not file a Police report as he was in the habit of staying overnight and sometimes, days, at different events in the neighbourhood. He was reportedly also a known philanderer.

Speculation is rife in the neighbourhood that Chiwaya could either have died from alcohol poisoning or was a victim of a crime of passion owing to the state his body was found in.

Eyewitness confirmed to this publication that when Chiwaya’s body was found, it had some froth on the mouth, while his boxer shorts were soiled with traces of suspected semen. His trousers’ zipper was still open and a T-Shirt was pulled halfway up his chest.

There were no visible injuries on his body.

The incident comes at a time when Chikangwe Suburb has seen a spike in murder incidents.
