On17/01/23, Police in Borrowdale arrested a couple, Fortunate Muchenje (35) and Joseph Bondoro (29) for allegedly killing their one month old daughter in Hatcliffe, Harare. The body of the victim was found with head injuries and had no right ear. The motive of the killing is not yet known. Investigations are in progress.

On 14/01/23, ZRP Hatfield recovered a Honda Fit vehicle (AFH 0955) reportedly stolen from a complainant at Murehwa Growth Point on 13/01/23. The car was found dumped in New Msasa Park with keys on the ignition port. Investigations are underway

*Wedza murder suspect arrested*

Former CID officer Jaison Muvhevhi, the murder suspect who was on the run for the fatal shooting of three people in Wedza, is reported to have been arrested.

The Herald reports that Muvhevhi, who allegedly shot dead three people in Wedza on Friday, including an apostolic sect leader, was arrested this Monday morning after crossing into Mozambique.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Officer-in-Charge of Wedza, Inspector Maxwell Hove is one of the victims while another police officer is battling for his life in hospital.

The other victim is a barman identified as Munashe Majani.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police-zrp is yet to confirm Muvhevhi’s arrest.

Murehwa violence: Two more suspects arrested

THE Zimbabwe Republic Police(ZRP) arrested two more suspects on Thursday while 17 other suspects are still on the run as the police intensify investigations into Murehwa Violence.

The police launched an investigation into the matter after Morris Seremani’s homestead was pounced on and those gathered were beaten.

The two suspects arrested by police on Thursday are 34-year-old Paul Kachigu and Dignity Nadzo, 31.

Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said investigations are underway to account for the other suspects.

“As we speak now, we are looking for 17 other suspects. The details and allegations against them will be revealed in court,” he said

Earlier this week police announced the arrest of 67-year-old Never Chimutashu, a resident of Bhunu village in Murehwa North where the violent incident occurred.

Muvhevhi still on the run: police

Police are still on the hunt for murder suspect Jaison Muvhevhi who allegedly shot and killed three people in Wedza on Friday.

Police national spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they have recovered an FN rifle allegedly used in the murder in a Toyota Allion vehicle dumped by Muvhevhi in Chipinge.

He also dismissed as false messages circulating on social media that Muvhevhi had been arrested.

Muvhevhi is alleged to have killed a church leader at an apostolic sect shrine in Wedza on Friday before turning the gun on a police officer who was trying to arrest him and another individual identified as a barman at Mukamba Business Centre.

The ZRP is investigating the circumstances in which a 63 year old man jumped to death from a local hotel’s eighth floor on 12/01/23 at 0830hrs. More details will be revealed in due course.

On 09/01/23, Police in Marlborough acted on a tip-off and arrested Reward Sibanda (53), Richard Dzinzi (35), Tafadzwa Renius Phiri (27) and Amos Dzinzi (18) for theft of copper cables at Stappleford Farm, Mt Hampden, Harare. Police recovered 25x1.5 pieces of copper cables, two shovels, a hacksaw and pliers from the suspects.

Police in Kadoma have arrested the head and Major of Salvation Army in Rimuka, Felix Tengemhare (62) and his wife, Benina Tengemhare, who is a Captain in the church, for tearing nineteen ZWL$50 notes during a church service on 08/01/23.

The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident where three people were killed while 18 others were injured when a Toyota Corolla vehicle with four passengers on board and a Toyota Quantum vehicle with 17 passengers on board were involved in a head on collision at the 308 km peg along Bulawayo-Beitbridge Road on 08/01/23 at around 1430 hours. As a result of the accident, the Toyota Quantum vehicle caught fire and was burnt to a shell leading to one of the victims being burnt beyond recognition.The bodies of the victims were taken to Beitbridge District Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured are admitted at the same hospital.

1/3 Police in Masvingo are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of an unknown suspect who shot dead a tuckshop owner, Michael Munhungowarwa (41),2/3 with a pistol before stealing unknown amount of cash on 07/01/23 at around 2100 hours along Kaguvi Street, Mucheke B, Masvingo.3/3 The suspect pounced at the tuckshop when the victim and his wife, Martha Taguta (26) were packing groceries while preparing to close the shop for the day. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station. .

3/3 Two complainants were duped US$300 and US$500 respectively in Machipisa , Highfield. The suspects are Liberty Chigwida (74), Nyaradzai Chikoore (37), Fungai Matinenga (32) and Savious Mbewe (46). More details to be availed in due course.
