Rotary Club of Harare Central Rotary is a secular organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. Rotary Club of Harare Central is local club in Harare.

It is part of Rotary International. We meet every Thursday's between 17:30hrs-18:30hrs at the Rotary Centre in Harare. Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated human rights purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a secular organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 member clubs worldwide. 1.2 million individuals called Rotarians have joined these clubs. Rotarians usually gather weekly for breakfast, lunch, or dinner to fulfill their first guiding principle to develop friendships as an opportunity for service. "It is the duty of all Rotarians," states their Manual of Procedure "outside their clubs, to be active as individuals in as many legally constituted groups and organizations as possible to promote, not only in words but through exemplary dedication, awareness of the dignity of all people and the respect of the consequent human rights of the individual." The Rotarian's primary motto is "Service Above Self"; its secondary motto is "One profits most who serves best

The Marondera wheelchair handover ceremony was graced by the Rotary Club of Harare Central President Ketty. She was assisted by club members.
25 wheelchairs were distributed on 29th August 2020 at Cherutombo High School. The handover was held in compliance with the WHO Covid19 guidelines.
The wheelchair project is being run in partnership with the Rotary Club of Fresno, California, RI District 5230 and Free Wheelchair Mission.

President Ketty together with Rotary Club of Harare Central members donated the latest reference books to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on the 5th August 2020.
This donation is part of the consignment which was recently received from Book Aid International and Elsevier Publishers.
This marked as the beginning of many handovers to come during the Rotary year 2020/2021.

Since 2017, the Rotary Clubs in Zimbabwe have partnered with Book Aid International in distributing medical text and reference books to nurse and midwife training schools , as well as the 3 medical schools and the sole veterinary school in Zimbabwe. The books are a kind gift from United States of America based Elsevier Publishers and each shipment is worth over USD1,000,000.00 on the open market. The British Council assists with the shipment and clearance of the books, which are then offloaded, stamped, sorted and apportioned and distributed by the Rotarians and Rotaractors in Harare, with assistance from their families.

In partnership with Rotary Club of Fresno, California, RI District 5230 and Free Wheelchair Mission, The Rotary Club of Harare Central is currently distributing 440 wheelchairs of all sizes to the very needy communities in Zimbabwe. The Rotary Club of Harare Central embarked on a journey to Kariba about 300 kilometres from Harare to conduct its first wheelchair handover ceremony on 11th July 2020 at the Kariba District Hospital. The Hospital ensured that the ceremony was held in compliance with the Covid19 guidelines.

With the advent of the new Rotary Year, President Ketty and club members of Rotary Club of Harare Central embarked on a journey to a rural area, Domboshava situated 30 kilometres out of Harare. The second wheelchair handover ceremony was held on 22nd August 2020. The handover was held in compliance with the WHO Covid19 guidelines. A total of 9 wheelchairs were donated to people living with disabilities in the Domboshava community.

In partnership with Rotary Club of Fresno, California, RI District 5230, The Rotary Club of Harare Central is currently distributing 440 wheelchairs of all sizes to the very needy communities in Zimbabwe. Most the wheelchairs are distributed to recipients in some of the most remote small urban and rural areas to very vulnerable people who have been mostly forgotten in aid programs.
With the advent of the new Rotary Year, Rotary Club of Harare Central embarked on a journey to Kariba about 300 kilometres from Harare to conduct its first wheelchair handover ceremony on 11th July 2020 at the Kariba District Hospital. The Hospital ensured that the ceremony was held in compliance with the Covid19 guidelines.
