Jomic

Jomic Promoting tolerance, trust, peace and national unity. JOMIC functions are primarily;

1. To ensure the implementation of the letter and spirit of the GPA;
2.

JOMIC derives its mandate from Article 22 of the GPA on who shall monitor the implementation of this agreement. To assess the implementation of the GPA from time to time and consider steps which need to be taken to ensure the speedy and full implementation of the GPA;
3. To receive reports and complaints in respect of any issue related to the implementation, enforcement and ex*****on of the GPA;
4

. To serve as a catalyst in creating and promoting an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding between the parties; and,
5. To promote sustained dialogue between the parties. JOMIC is the principal body dealing with issues of compliance and monitoring of the GPA.The parties undertook to channel all complaints, grievances and, concerns and issues related to compliance through JOMIC. Under the GPA, the parties must refrain from any conduct which might undermine the spirit of cooperation necessary for the fulfilment of this agreement. The members of each party are led by the party negotiator who is also the chairman of the group in JOMIC. The chairmanship rotates every month.

Jomic launched its peace song on Monday in Harare. We have Sani Makhalima as the producer, Sulumani Chimbetu, Leonard Mapfumo, Snipper, Patience Musa, Zandile Ndlovu, Rocqui, Plaxedes Wenyika, Ayzel, Muzimba, Cindy and Pauline doing the vocals.

These artistes came together to spread the gospel of peace.

JOMIC Youth interparty football tournament at Mushumbi Pools in Mbire district-Mash Central. 18 players from Zanu PF, MDC and MDC-T have come to represent their respective political parties on the soccer pitch.

Attendance is overwhelming as hundreds of people have come to witness the tournament.

Jomic has been using sporting activities in its peace-building initiatives across the country.
