The ZRP reports that Runesu Emmanuel (37) and Tinashe Chivende (27) were arrested for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs on 28/06/25. Police in Beitbridge acted on received information and intercepted a Toyota Wish registration number AEQ 3565 at a security check point along Mazunga- Muranda dust Road. A search was conducted by the police leading to the recovery of 307,568 kg dagga with a street value of US$30 756.80. In another case, Tarusarira Tauya (35) was arrested on 29/06/25 for possession of unregistered medicines. On 28/06/25, Detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics who were conducting an operation no to cross boarder crimes at Beitbridge Boarder Post intercepted and searched Rimbi Bus Tours leading to the recovery of 742 X 100mls Broncleer cough syrup which was meant to be delivered to its owner in Harare. Detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics, Harare were alerted and they managed to intercept the suspect at a garage along Simon Mazorodze Road, Harare, after he had received the contraband and loaded it in a Silver Toyota Wish vehicle registration number AFY 3876. The contraband has a street value of US$3 700.00

The ZRP reports that Providence Shumba (32) was arrested in connection with a case of robbery which occurred at an Ecocash Shop at Zvipoto Bus Terminus, Unit O, Chitungwiza on 25/06/25 where Buddie scratch cards worth US$1 000.00 ,US$180.00 cash, Samsung A04 cellphone and Hauwei cellphone were stolen. The suspect’s arrest led to the recovery of Buddie scratch cards worth US$500.00 and the two cellphones.

Reference is made to the ZRP X handle post dated 28/06/25 on a case of murder which occurred on 27/06/25 near Nyika Secondary School Grounds, Mhondoro Ngezi in which Mugove Katsande died. Police in Mamina acted on received information and arrested Vengai Chihiya (30) at Village 7, Manyoni in transit to Turf. The police searched the suspect and recovered a Columbian knife which was used to commit the offence. The ZRP applauds members of the public for continuously supplying useful information in the fight against crime.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed a fire incident that occurred at Sally Mugabe Hospital today at around 1150 hours. Emergency protocols were swiftly activated and all patients in the affected areas were evacuated. No injuries or fatalities have been reported. Investigations are currently underway to determine the cause of the fire.

The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident which occurred on 27/06/25 along a dust road in Featherstone. A 10 years old juvenile died when an ox-drawn scotch cart with one passenger on board, which was being led by a 15 years old male juvenile, hit a tree and overturned once. The victim sustained some head injuries and he died on admission at Chivhu General Hospital.

The ZPR confirms the arrest of Tinashe Chamunorwa (37) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on 27/06/25 near Nyika Secondary School Grounds, Mhondoro Ngezi in which Mugove Katsande died. The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim with a Columbia knife on the chest following a misunderstanding which rose after the suspect snatched the victim’s beer and poured it on the ground. Meanwhile, the ZRP is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Vengai Chihiya who is being sought in connection with this case. Anyone with information to report at any nearest Police Station.

Police in Tsholotsho arrested Musa Donga (45), Nkosilathi Nkomo (56), Benjamin Moyo (51), and Calbert Nkomo (45) in connection with the murder of Somiso Ndlovu (45) in Bhule Village on 13/06/25. The suspects, who were attending a funeral, allegedly assaulted the victim after they caught him breaking into a neighbouring house. In a separate incident, on 11/06/25, Police in Tengwe arrested Advice Pendi (32) for the murder of his 15-year-old niece, Mavis Pendi, whom he accused of having a love affair with an unidentified man.
