Easter & Independence Holiday Safety Message

Travel Safe, Arrive Safe: Your Life is Precious! As we approach the Easter and Independence Day holidays, the Zimbabwe Road Safety Initiative (ZRSI) urges all Zimbabweans to prioritize road safety. With increased traffic on our highways, let’s work together to ensure a "Zero Accident" holiday season.

🛣️ Road Safety Tips for Zimbabwe:

1. Vehicle Fitness: Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy. Check tyres, brakes, lights, and suspension before traveling.

2. Avoid Night Driving: Where possible, travel during the day to avoid hazards like stray animals and poorly lit roads.

3. Don’t Drink and Drive: Alcohol and driving are a deadly mix. Stay sober or use a designated driver.

4. Say No to Speeding: Stick to the speed limits. It’s better to arrive late than never.

5. Rest and Refresh: Fatigue is a silent killer. Take a break every 200km or 2 hours of driving.

6. Buckle Up: Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers. Protect your children with proper car seats.

7. Pedestrian Safety: Be extra vigilant near bus stops, markets, and rural growth points.

📢 Message to Public Transport Operators:
•Do not overload vehicles.
•Do not overwork drivers.
•Ensure all passengers are treated with respect and safety.

Let’s celebrate our faith and our freedom responsibly. ZRSI wishes you a peaceful, blessed, and safe holiday! 🙏🇿🇼

PUBLIC NOTICE: ESCALATING ROAD ACCIDENTS – A NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION

The rate at which road accidents are occurring in our country has reached an unacceptable threshold. Lives are being lost, families are being shattered, and the national economy is quietly absorbing avoidable costs. This is no longer a trend; it is a crisis.

As a concerned citizen and the founder of an emerging road-safety initiative, I am compelled to step forward. I see a clear opportunity to change the trajectory by empowering the public with consistent education, actionable safety guidance, and real-time accident updates that improve decision-making on our roads.

I am calling for your cooperation and collective support as we roll out this public-focused initiative. Together, we will drive awareness, embed safe-road behaviors, and close the information gaps that continue to fuel preventable accidents.

Your engagement is critical. Your support is strategic. And your participation will save lives.

Let us take responsibility today so that Zimbabwe travels a safer road tomorrow.
