On World Humanitarian Day, we recognise the power of compassion in times of crisis.

Humanitarian action is about more than responding to emergencies. It's about preserving human dignity, protecting vulnerable communities and ensuring that those affected by crisis receive the care and support they need when they need it most.

Last month, as Zimbabweans made their way home during a time of uncertainty, MARS was proud to be among the first emergency medical teams at the Beitbridge Border Post, providing medical assistance and emergency care to those returning home.

For us, humanitarian service means showing up with compassion, treating every person with dignity and standing ready to respond when communities need us most.

Today, we honour humanitarian workers everywhere whose commitment brings hope, relief and care to people facing difficult circumstances.

Because every life counts.

Today, we honour the courage that shaped our nation.

As Zimbabwe commemorates Heroes Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women whose sacrifice, resilience, and unwavering commitment secured the freedom and sovereignty we enjoy today.

This day reminds us of the strength found in unity, service, and love for country. It is a moment to reflect on the legacy of those who gave so much for the Zimbabwe we call home, and to carry forward the values of courage, sacrifice, and responsibility that they exemplified.

May their bravery continue to inspire future generations to serve with integrity, compassion, and dedication to the progress of our nation.
