Stakeholders, healthcare providers, and leaders are currently convened for a crucial Combined Family Planning & Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) Review Meeting. The ongoing forum is designed to strengthen reproductive health programs and build a healthier, more empowered Masvingo Province.
The meeting serves as a vital platform to address several key areas:
1:Boosting Family Planning Commodity Access: A significant focus is on reviewing the current stock status of family planning commodities to ensure a consistent and reliable supply across the province.
2:Highlighting Provincial FP Successes: The meeting is providing an opportunity to showcase successful outreach initiatives and integrated services that have contributed to family planning uptake in Masvingo Province.
3:Exploring Sayana Press Self-Care: Discussions are underway to advance empowering contraceptive options for women, with a particular emphasis on the Sayana Press self-care method.
4:Utilizing ZDHS (2023-24) Insights: Recent data from the Zimbabwe Demographic and Health Survey (ZDHS 2023-24), which indicates a national modern contraceptive use rate of 53%, is being leveraged to pinpoint provincial strengths and identify areas for growth and improvement in Masvingo.
5:Enhancing ASRH Quality: Dedicated discussions are taking place to improve the quality of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health services. This includes a focus on enhancing youth-friendliness in services, improving provider attitudes, strengthening comprehensive sexuality education, and addressing social barriers that impact youth access to these vital services.
The meeting underscores the collective commitment to improving reproductive health outcomes in Masvingo Province, aligning with national health goals and ensuring accessible and quality services for all.
