Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Masvingo Province, Hon Ezra Chadzamira, has reaffirmed that Masvingo Province is ready for major local and international investment partnerships under Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 and the “Zimbabwe is Open for Business” policy championed by Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Speaking at the South Africa–Zimbabwe ZIDO Business Summit 2026, Hon. Chadzamira highlighted the province’s vast investment opportunities in agriculture, mining, tourism, infrastructure, logistics, and renewable energy.
He described Masvingo as Zimbabwe’s water capital, with major dams including Tugwi-Mukosi Dam, Lake Mutirikwi, Manyuchi Dam, and Siya Dam providing strong potential for irrigation farming, livestock production, and agro-processing industries.
The Minister invited investors to partner in citrus farming, avocado production, grain cultivation, beef ranching, feedlots, cold-chain storage, and value-addition industries across districts such as Mwenezi District, Chivi District, Chiredzi District, and Zaka District.
On mining, Hon. Chadzamira said Sino Bikita Minerals presents major opportunities for lithium beneficiation and battery manufacturing, while Masvingo’s gold belts, coal reserves, and diamond prospects also offer significant industrial and exploration potential.
He further promoted tourism investments around Great Zimbabwe, Lake Mutirikwi, Tugwi-Mukosi Dam, and Gonarezhou National Park, including opportunities for luxury hotels, eco-lodges, conference centres, and water-sport facilities.
Hon. Chadzamira also emphasized Masvingo’s strategic location along the Beitbridge–Masvingo–Harare Highway and regional rail links connecting Zimbabwe to South Africa and Mozambique, creating opportunities in logistics, dry ports, warehousing, and transport infrastructure.
He highlighted renewable energy opportunities through solar and mini-hydropower projects and assured investors of a supportive business environment through the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency and the province’s open-door investment policy.
The Minister concluded by urging Zimbabweans in the diaspora and global investors to participate in Masvingo’s economic transformation, saying the province has the resources, peace, skilled workforce, and political will to become a major economic hub under Vision 2030.
