Many thanks to all residents, stakeholders and Government departments who attended yesterday's Full Council Meeting.

It interesting to note that Council is set to commission a set of yellow machines or road making machines. We are now awaiting the delivery of a motorised bowser expected to arrive in mid September. The new Clinic in Nyamhuka 1 will be officially opened very soon.

25 poles and other materials for street lights have been purchased.

Good news for Nyangani Park and Nyangani Park Extension as water reticulation materials have been purchased in collaboration with ZINWA and Nyanga RDC for connecting water in these residential areas.

The finance committee is proud to announce an increment of development levy plough back from 30% to 50% and they comment the traditional leaders in encouraging rural residents to pay their development levies.

The IT Department presented an interactive website (www.nyangardc.net) in which residents are encouraged to use to access services wherever they are.

Our DDC also encouraged residents to avoid veld fires as we approach the fire season. Tangwena road rehabilitation is progressing well now at 34km of motorised grading.

Lets remain committed in developing our Nyanga.

NYANGA – Nyanga Rural District Council (RDC) has invested US$302 365 in three earth-moving machines as it moves to improve road construction, maintenance and other service delivery operations.
The latest acquisition is a brand new 21-tonne Shacman tipper truck bought for US$82 950 using council’s own-source funds and delivered on Wednesday. Council also bought a 14-tonne vibratory steel roller for US$69 415, while a CAT140 motorised grader was acquired in April for US$150 000.
Nyanga RDC Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Samuel Myambo said the new truck would strengthen the council’s fleet, which had been relying on an ageing tipper bought about a decade ago.
We are pleased to have received the delivery of the 21-tonne tipper truck, which will beef up our service delivery in Nyanga as part of the new equipment we are acquiring this year. At the moment, we had only one tipper, which we bought sometime around 2016, and it is now getting old, and on its own it was inadequate, hence the decision to buy another. We are happy to have bought it,” said Myambo.
Myambo said the council was also expecting delivery of a motorised water bowser in September, with the newly acquired equipment expected to be commissioned during the first half of September.
The equipment will be used for road construction and maintenance, gravel and material transportation and other public works.
He said the council still needed more equipment and hoped support from residents and ratepayers would enable it to continue strengthening its fleet.

The new vehicle will enhance the mobility of revenue collection teams, enabling them to reach ratepayers and various revenue collection points more effectively, while supporting Council’s efforts to improve revenue mobilisation and service delivery.

Council remains committed to investing in equipment and resources that strengthen its capacity to serve residents, ratepayers and stakeholders.
