How to calculate power consumption
Dear friends, electricity is always calculated in watts and kilowatts
Now we see how we can find and calculate watts
As you may have seen, in some consumable specifications of electrical appliances, wattage is written.
Suppose an electric heater 2000 watts 🙄
Now we see how it is calculated.
Watt is always multiplied by the hour
That is, when we turn on the electric heater, it consumes up to 2000 watts of electricity per hour. Well, if in 24 hours we use a 2000 watt electric heater for 10 hours, here we multiply 2000 watts by 10 hours.
10x2000 = 20000
Well, now that we know that we use a 2000 watt electric heater in 24 hours and 10 hours, it consumes 20,000 watts.
Here, where an electric heater is 2000 watts in a month, using 10 hours a day, it becomes 600,000 watts. Now we calculate the watt in kilowatts, and when we say one kilowatt, we mean 1000 watts.
Here we divide our consumption by 1000
That is 600,000 watts divided by 1000 watts, which is the same as one kilowatt
600000 ÷ 1000 = 600
The sentence for a month was 600 kilowatts. Now we multiply the cost per kilowatt. Suppose, for example, our electricity per kilowatt is 5 afghanis.
600x5 = 3000 AFN
Well, dear friends, as we said, in some electrical appliances of the house, the consumption of watts is written, but in most other appliances,
