Attention Livestock Farmers!
We are pleased to announce upcoming Livestock Development Needs Assessment and Training Activities for sheep, goat, and poultry farmers.

The Valley, Anguilla – The Department of Natural Resources (DNaR) – Agriculture Unit, in collaboration with the University of Florida (UF), will be conducting a series of Livestock Development Needs Assessment and Training Activities from April 20th to 23rd, 2026. These activities form part of an ongoing national food security initiative aimed at building production capacity by equipping farmers with practical knowledge and technical skills.
The programme will be facilitated by two visiting experts from UF:
• Dr. Gary D. Butcher- Professor and Poultry Veterinarian in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences, UF College of Veterinary Medicine.
• Dr. Chad Carr- Professor and State Extension Meat Specialist in the Department of Animal Sciences, UF/IFAS.
During their visit, the UF team, in collaboration with the technical livestock team from the Department of Natural Resources, will conduct on-farm assessments as well as interactive technical workshops with farmers across the island.
The Department of Natural Resources – Agriculture Unit remains committed to advancing the livestock industry through targeted training, knowledge transfer, and stakeholder engagement. Farmers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their operations and contribute to national food security.
