Why do we peel sugarcane?

Can you imagine eating your favorite fruits with the skin on them? An orange, mango or even a banana would taste vastly different if you eat them with the skin.

At Kam's Delight, we peel for two main reasons.

1. Flavor
2. Hygiene

It is known that peeled sugarcane lets you taste more of the pure sweetness than sugarcane pressed with the skin on it. This is because no matter how good you filter it, some skin and skin taste will make it through. Not only discoloring the juice, but any thing that may have not been washed off the skin will get in the juice. The skin also gives the juice a more grassy flavour.

Secondly, we peel it because it guarantees that no unwanted impurities are incorporated into the juice.
