ASSB Supports Youth Ambassador’s International Sustainability Voyage

The Anguilla Social Security Board (ASSB) has contributed US$500.00 towards Ms. Wendysha Hodge's participation in the Youth for the SDGs 2026 Latin America Voyage Program, an international youth leadership initiative organised by Peace Boat US.

Ms. Hodge, a Global Youth Ambassador with Blue Planet Alliance, will join young leaders from around the world on a voyage from Panama to Mexico, from 15 June to 1 July 2026. The programme focuses on youth leadership, climate action, ocean conservation, sustainability, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Board approved the contribution to support Ms. Hodge’s essential programme-related expenses for the voyage. The initiative will provide valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and cultural exchange, as well as for strengthening leadership skills in sustainability and environmental advocacy.

ASSB congratulates Ms. Hodge on this achievement and commends her commitment to environmental stewardship and youth leadership. The Board wishes her a safe, productive, and enriching journey as she proudly represents Anguilla on the international stage.

ASSB Proudly Supports 2026 Malliouhana Poetry Competition as Platinum Sponsor

The Anguilla Social Security Board (ASSB) is pleased to announce its role as a Platinum Sponsor of the 2026 Malliouhana Poetry Competition (MPC), a flagship cultural initiative that continues to foster creativity, literacy, and self-expression throughout Anguilla.

Now in its 19th year, the Competition has become a cornerstone of the island’s cultural landscape and a valued feature of the Anguilla Day Calendar of Activities. Set for Wednesday, May 6, 2026, with the evocative theme “Salt In De Blood,” this year’s event promises to showcase once again the rich voices and stories of Anguillians of all ages.

The ASSB’s sponsorship reflects its ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, particularly by supporting educational and cultural development initiatives that empower individuals and strengthen national identity. By investing in platforms such as the MPC, the Board continues to support opportunities for youth and the wider community to express themselves, build confidence, and preserve Anguilla’s heritage through the literary arts.

The ASSB commends the organisers of the Malliouhana Poetry Competition for their dedication and vision, and encourages the public to support and participate in this inspiring celebration of talent and culture.
