AUA Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian College of Health Sciences offers an integrated approach to develop expertise in managing health programs, assessing the health needs of the people, and translating that knowledge into improving health by designing, implementing, and evaluating programs to meet those needs. The Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian CHS Master of Public Health (MPH) Program (https://chs.
aua.am/mph/) engages experienced health professionals and others in transformational education and training in population-based approaches to health and health services research, delivery, and evaluation. Our graduates are then prepared to lead in improving health and health services in Armenia, the Caucasus, Europe, and the World. The Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian CHS Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program (https://chs.aua.am/bachelor-of-science-in-nursing/) is an undergraduate education that is available for nurses who have a diploma in nursing from a vocational level colleges and seek to advance into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The program builds upon the courses taken in nursing colleges. Our Vision is to advance health and produce leaders for Armenia and the region who can transform existing health systems for a modern society. Our Values include transparency, the highest level of ethics, community engagement, interdisciplinary collaboration, integration, the highest quality of research and project implementation, and sustainable development. Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian CHS is a member of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER). Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian CHS is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (Baltimore, Maryland, USA) ranked #1 among schools of public health according to U.S. The guiding framework for approaching all public health issues developed at Johns Hopkins and used at the College of Health Sciences has been coined the “Problem Solving Paradigm”. The two-year MPH curriculum is organized around this guiding framework, which first provides students a conceptual overview of the diverse profession of public health and the team-oriented approach to professional practice. Students proceed through the program as part of a defined cohort, fostering group spirit and gaining experience in multi-disciplinary group problem solving, project leadership, and management (https://chs.aua.am/mph/). The Center for Health Services Research and Development (CHSR) is a direct extension of Gerald and Patricia Turpanjian CHS’s educational program, providing a service to the professional public health community while providing training and employment opportunities for our students and graduates [www.chsr.aua.am].
