Lithuania is strengthening its naval engineering capabilities.

Western Shipyard Group has signed a €37M contract with Turkey’s Hat-San Shipyard for a new floating dock dedicated to Panamax-type vessel repair.

The dock, set to begin operations in autumn 2027, will measure 200 m in length, 35 m in width, and will have a lifting capacity of 15,000 tons.

The move opens the door for Klaipėda to take on more complex, higher-value projects. And reinforces the seaport city’s position as a growing maritime engineering hub.

36-eri metai laisvės mums tapo didžiausia savirealizacijos pamoka. Šiandien Lietuva yra
neatsiejama laisvojo pasaulio dalis – atsakinga Europos Sąjungos ir NATO narė, tvirta
demokratijos gynėja.
Puikiai suvokiame, kad laisvė nėra duotybė, o kasdienis pažadas ją puoselėti. Švęskime
Lietuvos nepriklausomybės atkūrimo dieną – savo Valstybę, savo bendrą nueitą kelią ir
pergales, kurias dar pasieksime kartu. Esame stiprūs tiek, kiek esame laisvi.
Tik laisvi užaugam dideli. 🇱🇹

Lithuania climbs four spots and ranks 28th in the world on the 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).

The Index, covering 182 countries and territories, remains one of the world’s most recognised anti-corruption benchmarks.

Since 2012, Lithuania has improved its CPI score by 11 points (65 points out of 100 now) and climbed 20 places in the global ranking. Today, it stands above the EU average (62 points out of 100).

But there is still work ahead. Under the National Corruption Prevention Agenda, Lithuania aims to reach a CPI score of 74 by 2033. Lithuania’s track record shows very steady progress in the right direction.
