In this diplomatic role, he has emerged as a dynamic advocate for Zambia, positioning the country as a compelling destination for investment in key sectors, including agriculture, mining, technology, manufacturing, and tourism. He has led business delegations to Zambia, promoted trade and cultural exchange, and has become known for his hands-on approach to economic diplomacy—highlighting not only Zambia’s investment potential but also its people, music, and traditions. His diplomatic philosophy is deeply grounded in community. He believes that diplomacy should not be distant from the grassroots. As such, he remains actively engaged with the people of Chiwempala, where he was raised, his ancestral homeland in Milenge, and Zambia’s traditional leadership. As a post-Africanist thinker, Dr. Munshya advocates for forward-looking, innovative strategies for Africa’s development. What a pleasure to step away from diplomatic engagements this week and reconnect with the grassroots in the community of my birth, Chiwempala.

This place has energised my passion to serve Zambia on the global stage. Chiwempala is a place of dreams. A place of passion. A place that shaped everything I have become.

It was good to reconnect with my dear brother Mr. Dominic Kapalu, with Hon. Chipoka Mulenga, and with many others from our community here in Chingola.

Diplomacy must never lose touch with the soil that formed us.

Whereby you arrive in Chiwempala and your Mayo Senge has all the tea. Most importantly she already has a campaign program for you and leads you into a song or two. Angola and Chingola comes up with a clear reference of the rich Luvale, Chokwe and Lunda common cultures. Next stop must be to see my childhood friend Griface. It is a great moment with my Mayo Senge.
