ENSURING SAFE 2022 | 102Bde hosts ZamPen PJSCC meeting

Ipil, ZSP -- The 102nd Infantry (IGSOON) Brigade hosted the Zamboanga Peninsula Provincial Joint Security Coordinating Center meeting, Monday afternoon, March 28, 2022.

The said meeting was participated by the Provincial Election Supervisors, Provincial Directors of the Phillippine National Police and Battalion Commanders in Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay.

Likewise, the Commander, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, Philippine Army, Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio graced the activity with his presence and provided guidance and direction to the Army units.

"Let us ensure that everyone will be able to exercise their right of suffrage and that the true voice of the people will be heard and come out victorious in this upcoming National ang Local Elections 2022," said Maj. Gen. Ponio.

Topics discussed are the current security situation that may affect the electoral process and reevaluation of the Election Hotspot Categorization of the different municipalities to identify areas of concerns during the election period.

The meeting was conducted at the unit's headquarters at Barangay Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Province.

ARMY@125 | 102Bde Commander relays CGPA's Anniversary Message

Ipil, ZSP - The 102nd Infantry (IGSOON) Brigade Commander relayed the Commanding General Philippine Army's Anniversary Message to the troops.

In connection with the Army's 125th Founding Anniversary, the 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander, Brig.Gen. Leonel Nicolas, led his troops and joined all Army units nationwide, in the conduct of Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony to
commemmorate the historical birth of the organization on March 22, 1897.

"For over 125 years, the Philippine Army has performed and evolved as a reliable and professional organization. Since our institution's inception, the Philippine Army has transformed into a formidable, highly responsive, and modern force, ready to serve the country beyond the line of duty," said Lt.Gen. Romeo S Brawner Jr, the 65th Commanding General, Philippine Army.

PLEDS Teams inspect BDP progress in ZamboNorte

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay - The Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support Teams inspected the ongoing implementation of Barangay Development Projects in Zamboanga del Norte.

The joint AFP and PNP personnel of 97th Infantry (KALASAGLAHI) Battalion and Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Police Office are presently deployed in Sergio Osmeña Sr, Zamboanga del Norte as sustainment teams in support to the Retooled Community Support Program of the government to insulate cleared barangays from possible recovery efforts of the Communist Terrorist Groups.

"For 2021, two barangays of Sergio Osmeña Sr, specifically, Barangay Bagumbayan and Nazareth, were beneficiaries of the PhP20Million BDP fund through the efforts of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict," said Lt. Col. Nolasco Coderos Jr, Commanding Officer, 97IB.

Through a series of consultation and dialogues with the constituents, the proposal for the utilization of the said funds for the Concreting of Farm-to-Market Roads of the two barangays were approved.

"These projects are vital in providing long-term solutions in addressing the root causes of insurgency in the province which will eventually uplift the lives of its people," said Brig. Gen. Leonel Nicolas, Commander, 102nd Infantry (IGSOON) Brigade.

"We are now at the final stage for the total defeat of the Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee as their strength is now dwindling. The protection of these projects is an integral part of our campaign to ensure peace and promote development in the entire Zamboanga Peninsula," Brig. Gen. Nicolas added.

There is a total of 108 various infrastructure, agricultural, social services and other BDP projects that the Brigade is presently monitoring in close coordination with other government agencies and local government units in the 82 beneficiary barangays of Zamboanga Peninsula and Misamis Occidental.
