02 June 2026, BUENOS AIRES – As the current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires (ACBA), Ambassador Grace T. Cruz-Fabella, together with fellow ACBA Ambassadors and representatives, participated in a talk at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), a distinguished pontifical university, engaging students and faculty in a lively discussion on ASEAN’s role in global politics, regional integration, and the expanding relationship between Southeast Asia and Latin America. The ACBA members were warmly received by Rector Dr. Miguel Ángel Schiavone and university officials, who attended the lecture.
In her remarks, Ambassador Cruz-Fabella shared insights on ASEAN’s continued growth, resilience, and relevance in an evolving international landscape, and the priorities of the Philippines as ASEAN Chair in 2026.
The lecture provided a valuable platform for the ACBA to deepen engagement with the academic community, fostering greater awareness of ASEAN and strengthening people-to-people connections between Southeast Asia and Argentina.
Established in 2018 by the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, the ASEAN Committee in Buenos Aires regularly engages with government institutions, the private sector, academia, and civil society to strengthen ASEAN–Argentina relations.
