FRA helps to make sure that the European Union and national governments respect fundamental rights. It carries out research projects looking at European Union law and national law, as well as the day to day lives of people living across the 28 member countries. It then identifies ways in which rights are being protected successfully and suggests areas for improvement. Our Facebook policy

The translation will help Ukrainian judges, lawyers, policymakers and civil society organisations work more easily with EU fundamental rights standards in their daily work. This also supports Ukraine’s EU alignment and will allow them to more consistently apply the Charter in national laws and policies.

The handbook:
🔹provides practical guidance on when the Charter applies and how to integrate fundamental rights into national laws and policies.
🔹 strengthens day-to-day cooperation between Ukrainian and EU institutions through shared legal knowledge and practice.

The translated European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights Charter handbook was developed by the 3*E4U programme.

You can find the handbook here:https://fra.europa.eu/sites/default/files/fra_uploads/fra-2018-charter-guidance_uk.pdf

⚖️ Now more than ever, the rule of law matters.

Knowing that the rules apply equally and predictably lets people live with confidence – from signing a job contract to renting a home or speaking freely in public.

When the rule of law is strong, rights are respected. People are protected from abuse of power, treated fairly and given equal access to justice and public services.

This is why, as the rule of law comes under increasing pressure, it’s so important to protect it. Doing so means protecting people’s ability to live their lives, defend their rights, and be part of a system that works for everyone.

That is what the rule of law really is – the infrastructure that allows society to move forward. Together.

Every child has the right to grow up safe, heard and protected. Making those rights real means building systems that truly work for children.

On the International Day for the Protection of Children, FRA reaffirms these rights and stresses the need for effective laws, policies and practices.

From research to consultations with key actors, FRA’s work points to both progress and persistent gaps. Three priorities stand out:
🔹 Stronger cooperation between national authorities, EU bodies, Ombudspersons and civil society
🔹 Meaningful child participation in decisions that affect them
🔹 More coherent and integrated child protection frameworks, supported by reliable data and monitoring

This work also feeds into key debates on how to better protect children today – from digital safety and age limits on social media to improving coordination across child protection systems.

New resources are coming soon, including a Charter factsheet on child rights and findings on the experiences of LGBTIQ children and young people in education.

New findings from FRA’s survey on online fraud show how widespread scams are – from fake goods and services to impersonation messages.

Based on responses from more than 26,000 people across the EU, the research highlights:

🔵 35% were tricked into buying fake goods or services.
🔵 25% were tricked into transferring money by fraudsters pretending to be a family member.
🔵 20% were subject to investment scams.
🔵 Only 15% reported their experience of fraud to the police.

FRA’s findings contribute to improving responses to online fraud and justice for victims.
