As we conclude our “Voices of the World Congress” series, we end with the reflections of our former President Hend Mgaieth at the close of her mandate. After days of discussions, exchanges, and shared moments throughout this Congress, her words look back on the journey carried together over the past years and ahead toward a new chapter for the organization:

“In one of the most challenging periods for our generation, marked by wars, conflicts, and both internal and external crises, we have continued to stand with courage and solidarity. At a time when many claim that young people are losing interest in politics, this Congress has proved the opposite: our generation is ready to lead, defend our shared values, and take responsibility for the future.

Looking back on these past years, I do so with profound emotion and deep gratitude. None of what we achieved was the work of any one person alone. Every step forward was possible by our collective commitment, mutual trust, and the unwavering determination of young people who refused to give up on their ideals and shared values. Even in the most difficult moments, they continued to believe in the strength of the IUSY network, in the power of international solidarity, and in our shared capacity to shape a more just and democratic world. It is their conviction, resilience, and commitment that made our progress possible.

There were moments of doubt, pressure, and uncertainty, but we continued to move forward together. What gives me hope today is knowing that this spirit will continue beyond my mandate.

As the new Presidium begins its work, I am confident that the path we started together will continue with the same energy, courage, and dedication. The challenges ahead remain significant, but so does the strength of our youth. "

Periods aren’t a choice. Taxing them is.
500M people lack products or safe toilets to manage their periods. Menstrual poverty pushes girls out of school and women out of work.
IUSY is clear: End the sexist tax. Tax-free periods now.
