December can be a stressful period for producers. But one of the most helpful things you can do is to deliberately focus on what you CAN control. These are simple things like how you choose to treat yourself (e.g. what you eat), where you choose to focus your attention (on the past, present or future), and how you choose to treat the people around you. For practical tips on how to do this, visit: https://weatherittogether.org.au/focus/

Whatever you're doing, look after yourself over the festive season. Here's to a safe and happy 2026.

It's National Farm Safety Week which this year is focusing on second chances. Today's daily topic is kids on farms, so we thought it was pertinent to revisit our Farm Safety For Kids project. Guided and supported by PPSA’s membership of Farmsafe Australia , this project developed sector specific resources to educate kids who live on or visit a farm about safety. Don't forget - PROTECT YOUR PEOPLE! https://ppsa.org.au/projects/

PPSA appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with the Federal Minister for Agriculture on a number of issues during her trip to SA this week, chief among them the current drought impacting South Australian producers. We'll to engage at a Federal and State level to ensure the concerns of SA producers are heard and we extend an invitation to the Prime Minister to come and visit SA regions as well.

PPSA is one of the 50 organisations calling for urgent investment in rural mental health. The mental health and wellbeing of people in agriculture is
adversely impacted by increasingly complex and compounding events including weather and natural disasters, financial stress, and geographic or social isolation.

This mental health and wellbeing crisis demands a tailor-made, whole-of-industry response that is supported by government – and it must happen urgently.
