The Lifetime Support Authority (LSA) delivers the South Australian Government’s Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS). The LSS is a no-fault scheme which provides treatment, care and support for people who suffer very serious injuries in motor vehicle accidents in South Australia.

We recently attended Brain Injury SA's Stronger Together event as part of Brain Injury Awareness Week 2026.

As a Presenting Partner, we were honoured to be part of an event that brought together individuals, families, service providers and advocates from across the brain injury community. The day was an opportunity to connect and learn from people who are committed to improving outcomes and creating greater understanding for people living with a brain injury.

Our Chief Executive Dr Peta Smith, presented the 2026 Embrace Life After Brain Injury Award to Georgina Coventry. This recognition celebrates Georgina's outstanding contribution and commitment to raising awareness. Congratulations Georgina!

It was a pleasure to attend the University of Adelaide Occupational Therapy Career Fair and connect with students about the many career pathways available in allied health.

At the Lifetime Support Authority (LSA), our Service Planners come from a range of allied health backgrounds, including Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Developmental Education. They use their expertise to support Lifetime Support Scheme participants by coordinating treatment, care and support throughout their recovery journey.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat and learn more about the work we do. It was inspiring to meet so many passionate future allied health professionals committed to making a difference.

The LSA was honoured to attend the largest National Reconciliation Week Breakfast in the nation, alongside more than 3,000 attendees gathered on Kaurna land.

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

We were privileged to hear a powerful Welcome to Country by Uncle Major “Moogy” Sumner AM, followed by engaging and thought-provoking presentations from Jeremy Johncock, Hon Kyam Maher MLC, Aunty Ros Cameron, and the morning’s keynote speaker Eddie Betts. Each shared stories of pride in their culture, resilience, and hopes for ongoing reconciliation. We also got to witness performances by Nathan May and the Adelaide Baroque String Quartet and 2004 Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan.

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, , calls on all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

The LSA came together this morning to support the Cancer Councils Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. It was wonderful to see staff come together and connect, share a cuppa, share stories and support a cause close to so many.

Every contribution, from conversations to donations helps to make a difference to those touched by cancer.

Funds raised from this morning’s event will go towards cancer research, prevention programs, and support services for those affected.

This morning, LSA staff were delighted and honoured to attend Australia’s largest International Women’s Day breakfast, held right here in Adelaide.

This year’s theme, “Balance the Scales,” is a powerful reminder that every woman and girl - regardless of background, circumstance or identity - deserves to feel safe, be heard, and have the freedom to shape their own future.

We were especially inspired to hear from Adelaide’s own Katherine Bennell-Pegg, the first Australian woman to receive professional astronaut wings. Her message to the young women in the room was simple but powerful: follow your dreams. With determination, courage and belief in yourself, the possibilities are limitless.

Events like this remind us of the importance of continuing to support and uplift women and girls in our workplaces, communities and beyond.

This morning, we were proud to celebrate International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) at the LSA with a morning tea and a live stream organised by DTF. We were honoured to hear from guest speaker Tammie Sinclair, Manager Workforce Development, Training and Education in the Disability and Specialist Services division at the Department of Human Services.

The 2025 theme -'Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress' - is a powerful reminder that inclusion is not a single action, but an ongoing commitment to meaningful change. At the LSA, we are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace and ensuring our services remain accessible, supportive and responsive to all. By championing inclusion, celebrating diversity, and removing barriers, we can help build a society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
