Nutrition & Thyroid Event Registration

We warmly welcome you to join us for:

Nutrition is incredibly powerful when it comes to supporting the thyroid as the thyroid needs very specific nutrients to produce its hormones. These key nutrients (e.g., iodine) can easily be lacking in a standard Western diet. Given that over 50% of people with Down syndrome have an underactive thyroid, ensuring the thyroid gets the nutrients it needs to function properly should be a top priority.

In this session, Nicky will explain how the thyroid functions, which nutrients are essential for hormone production, and the best dietary sources for these nutrients. She will also share practical, easy-to-implement strategies and ideas for incorporating these nutrients into everyday meals.

Nicky is a nutritionist in Sydney CBD who helps men and women over the age of 40 know what to eat. She sees clients privately, runs online programmes, gives talks, and facilitates workshops. Nicky has a growing interest in nutrition for Down Syndrome which started when her youngest son Michael, who is now 5 years old, was diagnosed. Nicky now runs 6-week online programs on Healthy Eating for people with Down Syndrome and runs educations sessions for Parents and Carers. You can find out more at www.nickyclarknutrition.com or email Nicky at [email protected].
