Staffing Announcement:

As Deputy Chair of Governing Council, I am pleased to share that Yunni’s appointment as Principal of Torrensville Primary School has been renewed for a further 10 years.
Since joining TPS in 2021, Yunni has led with a clear commitment to ensuring student voice is central to decision-making, and listening to and acting on community feedback.

Over the past five years, TPS has seen many improvements, including the co-designed senior playground, upgrades to fencing, classroom refreshes, consistency, continuity and lots of fun. While many of these achievements reflect Yunni’s strategic leadership, he is also known for rolling up his sleeves, paintbrush in hand, to provide high-quality learning spaces for students.

Student leadership opportunities have expanded, and a strong growth mindset culture has been fostered, with high numbers of students confidently putting themselves forward for leadership opportunities.
Yunni has also maintained a strong focus on supporting teachers to continually strengthen their practice. This commitment is reflected in TPS’s excellent academic outcomes, including recent NAPLAN results that were above the national average in every assessment area.

A consistent theme the Governing Council hears from staff and families new to our school is the strong sense of community and the positive relationships between students, families and staff. This culture has continued to thrive under Yunni’s leadership and Torrensville has become a school of choice. Congratulations Yunni!

Tara Willersdorf
Deputy Chair Governing Council

PS. By the end of his tenure, he won't have to dress up for our 100 days of learning assembly ;-)

Today we proudly launched Reconciliation Week with a whole school gathering on the oval. Students and staff came together in three circles, symbolising connection, community and the enduring importance of Aboriginal perspectives and culture.

Wearing a touch of yellow to represent our connection to Country and to ground us to the Earth, we stood together to participate in a whole school Acknowledgement of Country.

A meaningful way to begin a week of listening, learning and strengthening relationships as we walk together in reconciliation. At TPS, we're all in! 💛

Dear School Community,

Please be advised that under no circumstances is anyone to enter the school grounds this weekend, Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May, as licensed contractors will be undertaking asbestos remediation works onsite.
For the safety of all community members, the school grounds will be strictly closed for the duration of these works. This includes access for recreation, play, sports, or any other purpose.
We ask that all families and community members respect this closure and avoid entering the site this weekend.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we undertake these important safety works.

Sincerely,
Yunni

🇦🇺🇳🇿🌹 Lest We Forget
Their sacrifice, our freedom.

Today, and every day, we honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of our servicemen, servicewomen, and service animals — past and present.

On this day of remembrance, we pay tribute to the Anzac spirit and those who gave so much in service of others.

We will remember them.
