Here’s what you need to know. 👇

- A test ‘Priority AusAlert’ message will be sent by the Australian Government to all compatible mobile devices in the City of Port Lincoln Council area at around 11:00 am, today, Saturday 20 June 2026.

- If you are near the test area with a compatible mobile device, you may receive the alert.

- Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. An AusAlert may appear on your device screen. It will clearly say it is a test. You don't need to do anything.

- Feedback can be provided online, by visiting www.AusAlert.gov.au/feedback

There will also be a national test on Monday 27 July 2026, at around 1:30 pm ACST. AusAlerts will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia.

Ensure you can receive AusAlerts by installing the latest software update and restarting your device. Updates also fix bugs, improve performance and may boost battery life.

Today is Thank a First Responder Day. Everyday brings different and unique challenges, something that our other emergency service colleagues across the state would understand all too well.

We’re thankful for them and their support, as well as the broader community, as we all work towards a shared goal ❤️

Eli Murn OAM is one of the MFS Road Awareness Program's guest presenters. He shares his story of being a young athlete, who was tragically involved in a crash that left him with an acquired brain injury and mobility issues.

Eli had to relearn how to walk, talk, eat and care for himself after the high-speed crash.

Using his experience, he delivers a powerful and emotive speech to audiences across the state on the importance of road safety.

Congratulations Eli on receiving this recognition.

Today is Smoke Alarm Action Day, a national day of action, where we are joining fire services across the country, including our state counterpart the SA Country Fire Service, to urge the community to check their smoke alarms work.

The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service is currently responding to a Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) incident at a school on Pannan Street in Kadina.

The immediate site has been evacuated as a result, and the site contained while further investigations are ongoing.
