I am sitting in the sunshine at Glenunga Oval enjoying the Rams winning the A Grade elimination final! It is great to see so much community spirit, a great crowd with lots of children having fun! Great work Rams! A win in the Reserves, a loss in C Grade and a more than 10 goal victory in the A Grade!

It was a sea of colour and excitement as Burnside Primary School celebrated the 80th year of BookWeek ‘Symphony of Stories’ yesterday. The children paraded around the streets and had a fabulous assembly with a stiltwalker, book winners, terrific costumes, music and fun! Thank you for having me participate! I also loved the William Tell Overture at the end!

Last night was a celebration of music and young people’s achievement at the Adelaide Town Hall. Marryatville High School’s annual concert showcased the talents of both the students and their teachers with wonderful music and song, climaxing with the performance of Kate Miller-Heidke’s ‘Zero Gravity’ by all of the players. Thank you for inviting me once again to your fantastic concert!

There are so many wonderful books there that I have enjoyed as a child, a parent and as a teacher. Thank to those responsible for such a great trip down reading-memory lane. Here are just some of them:

There was a tremendous turn out today at the protest against the destruction of the parklands for the MotoGP. Excellent speakers shared their concerns on behalf of South Australians who respect their heritage and love their environment. Thousands of people of all ages were there to share their concerns and want questions answered.
