The LNP cutting emergency housing support in a housing crisis has not helped a single Queenslander.

GET THE FACTS: Most of Australia’s debt was racked up by the Coalition.

What the Coalition and parts of the media don’t want you to know is over 60% of Australia’s trillion dollars in debt was racked up by the Coalition in their nine years in office, while less than 40% of it occurred under the Rudd, Gillard and Albanese Labor Governments.

Queenslanders don't deserve this failing Minister.

Yesterday in Parliament, the LNP Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence couldn’t say how many women and children have been killed this year from DFV.

She also refused to provide an update on the important Women's Safety and Justice Taskforce.

It’s National Skills Week

I left school at 15 to become a tradie, not a politician.

If you’d told 15-year-old Dan that one day he’d be sitting in Parliament, he probably would’ve told you that you were absolutely cooked.

Doing a trade taught me a hell of a lot. How to work hard, turn up on time, solve problems, back your mates and take pride in doing a job properly.

Those lessons have stuck with me ever since.

Now, we all know pollies love chucking on a high-vis vest for a photo op. And that’s alright, safety first.

But when it comes to the actual work, let's leave that to the real tradies.

Australia needs more skilled workers. Fitters, mechanics, chippies, hairdressers, bakers, florists, beauty therapists, plumbers, boilermakers, hairdressers and even electricians.

University is a great path for plenty of people, but it’s not the only path to a good career.

We don’t all need degrees. There are enough lawyers in the world. We need more people learning a trade and backing themselves with a skill for life.

New revelations out of the inquiry into misconduct in the construction industry have left Jarrod Bleijie with some big questions to answer. Is this another Bleijie-blunder, or a sign of something more?

Police have confirmed that Djuarn spoke to them days before she was allegedly murdered.

Her mother, Patrice, has said her daughter's cries for help were not answered, and said the State Government needs to do more.

Governments must do everything they can to prevent domestic and family violence deaths and injuries,

Now is not the time for Premier Crisafulli to play his political games – there is too much at stake.
