Construction is now underway on our new catch fence at Attwell Park, and we’re incredibly excited to see this important project taking shape.

This project is part of PlayOn WA, an exciting initiative delivering 2,030 community infrastructure items across Western Australia by 2030.

These improvements are all part of our ongoing commitment to making Albany Speedway an even better and safer venue for both competitors and spectators.

A massive thank you to John and his team at Kosters Steel & Construction for getting this huge job underway, and to John Koster for your continued support of Albany Speedway!

John has been a huge supporter of our club for many years, and we’re incredibly proud to have you as part of our Speedway family. Thank you for helping us continue to grow and improve our club and for helping keep the spirit of Speedway alive in Albany! 💙

And another massive thank you to our dedicated club members who have spent countless hours at the track over the past few months. Your hard work, time and commitment have been invaluable in helping get this project underway and keeping the Speedway grounds moving forward.

🎭🎨 Regional families, round 2 of the Kids Access All Areas Vouchers program is now open!

Families can claim a $50 voucher for eligible children aged 5 to 15 years, with up to 4 vouchers available per family, to attend arts and cultural events across Western Australia.

📍With more than 40 participating venues and providers in regional WA, there are plenty of opportunities to use your voucher close to home.

You can also use your voucher at any participating venue across Western Australia, including when visiting Perth or another region.

Claiming a voucher is easy:
✅ Reserve your voucher(s)
✅ Purchase tickets to an eligible arts or cultural event
✅ Upload your tax invoice to claim your rebate

The easiest way to claim is through the ServiceWA app via the Offers tab. Alternative application methods are also available.

Please note: families who received a voucher in Round 1 are not eligible for a voucher in Round 2.

The Arts Activities in Regional Communities program is now open, supporting arts and cultural activity right across regional WA!

Whether you're planning a community festival, creative workshop or locally led arts project, the Creative Projects category offers grants of up to $60,000. Regional local governments can also apply for up to $50,000 through the Creative and Cultural Planning category to develop or refresh creative and cultural plans.

It's all about creating more opportunities to participate in, access and experience arts and culture in regional communities.

Congratulations to all participants who took part in the Katanning Run4Resilience and embraced the spirit of resilience and community!

Thank you for creating an opportunity to bring our community together, promote wellbeing, and strengthen resilience across the Great Southern.

Crossing that finish line is pretty special… but running through the arch just seems to complete the journey! 🙌

With support from the WA Government, and proudly supported by the Government of Western Australia – Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS), this awesome arch helped create a pretty memorable finish for all 218 participants at the 2026 Katanning Run 4 Resilience! 💙

From the first runner through to the last, that moment of crossing under the arch represents the kilometres, the effort, the laughs, the sweat and everything that went into getting there.

August is Family History Month, and this year's theme, Ancestors: Mundane to Magnificent, celebrates the remarkable stories of everyday people who help shape our collective history.

Our Aboriginal History WA team provides a research service to help Aboriginal people access historical records and learn more about themselves, their families and their ancestors.

Looking to start exploring your family history? Join the team for a free Aboriginal family history session at the State Library of Western Australia, where you can get support researching your family history, ask questions and learn where to begin.

More than 500 community sport and recreation assets delivered, with more to come 🏃‍♀️🏉🚴

From clubrooms and courts to lighting, playing fields and aquatic facilities, these projects are helping local clubs welcome more participants, support growing communities and create more inclusive spaces for people of all ages and abilities.

With 384 projects completed across metropolitan WA and 158 in regional communities, the momentum is building as PlayOn WA works towards delivering 2,030 community sport and recreation assets by 2030.
