It was announced today that the Boards of Alexandra District Health and Eastern Health have formally recommended a voluntary amalgamation. This recommendation has been forwarded to the Minister of Health for consideration and approval.

ADTTA has not yet received advice whether some/any/all of the 18 recommendations or questions we provided have been addressed in the proposed business case (questions outlined below). We look forward to learning more about the recommended amalgamation and the proposed pathway to stronger local healthcare for our community.

End of an era 💙

Today, we’d like to take a moment to sincerely thank Graeme and Jenny for their incredible support of our local community.

Over many years, they have been staunch supporters of the Alexandra and District Traders and Tourism Association, and passionate advocates for local business. Their commitment, generosity, and quiet leadership have made a real difference in our town.

As a fitting bookend, Graeme and Jenny took on the newsagency shortly after the 2009 fires, and now pass it on in the aftermath of another challenging time for our community.

Tomorrow, they hand the reins to Sam and Shiva, and we wish them every success in this next chapter.

Graeme and Jenny, on behalf of the entire business community, thank you for everything you have given to Alexandra. We wish you all the very best for what lies ahead.
