The Anindilyakwa Land Council, the ALC Board and the Anindilyakwa communities of the Groote Archipelago express their profound sorrow for the loss of young pilot, Bob Bramley.

Our deepest sympathies go to Mr Bramley’s family, friends and colleagues at Air Frontier.
We also extend our respect and gratitude to all who have helped in the search for the aircraft, including Anindilyakwa Sea Rangers, who tirelessly supported NT police and search crews.

With deepest respect and sympathy,

Did you know Groote Eylandt is home to two music studios, three art centres, a media training hub, a language centre and two local radio stations? 🎨 🎶 📻

This is what living and breathing Preserving Culture looks like.

In our latest issue of Stories from Groote, we explore some of the cultural programs that support the ALC’s vision to ‘protect, promote and maintain Anindilyakwa culture’.

⚫ The Anthropology program is working with elders and community to research, record and retain Anindilyakwa cultural heritage.

🟠 The Anindilyakwa Arts program is reviving traditional arts and crafts, supporting generational knowledge sharing and demonstrating the power of repatriation of Indigenous artefacts.

🔴 The Media and Music programs are supporting the next generation of storytellers by training them in media software and production techniques while celebrating traditional forms of music and dance.
