Anna Bay Rural Fire Brigade An insight of what goes on at the Anna Bay Rural Fire Station. We also run community education programs to help with home and bush fire safety and awareness

We are a voluntary organization that is on call 24 hours a day 7days a week, we fight bush fires attend car accidents, house fires and many other events when required, we also assist other agencies such as police and ambulance.

It's with much sadness that we say farewell to our Digby. Digby when still active was always the first to put his hand up. Digby passed in the early hours of this morning he has fought the good fight following injuries in an mva then battling cancer. You will always be part of our team and fire family. Rest in Peace our dear friend your job is done.

Firefighters will be taking advantage of favourable conditions to conduct a Hazard Reduction Burn on Friday 1st May 2026.

Residents in the area may see or smell smoke and those with asthma or other respiratory problems are advised to keep clear of the area, stay indoors with your windows closed and to activate your health plan if required.

🔘 DOUBLE DEMERITS FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT

NSW Police has launched a statewide traffic operation aimed at curbing dangerous driving and preventing further loss of life as drivers hit the roads for the Anzac Day long weekend.

Police will have a high-visibility presence across the state during Operation Anzac Day 2026 from 12.01am Friday 24 April 2026 to 11.59pm Monday 27 April 2026.

A double demerits period targeting speeding, mobile phone use, seatbelt and helmet offences will be in place for the same time period.

Officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command with the assistance of general duties and specialist officers from all police commands and districts across the state will be deployed to urge drivers to make smart choices on the road.

There have been 108 lives lost on NSW roads this year, which is five more than the same time last year.

Members of the public are urged to report motorists engaged in dangerous driving to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

However you must still notify RFS and Neighbours if you are burning.

✅ Items to make your burn a safe one:

1. Notify via the RFS website at least 24 hours before

2. Notify your neighbours at least 24 hours before;

3. Check the weather forecast and fire danger - only burn if favourable conditions;

4. Use fire safely with clearings all around and water onsite;

5. Monitor the fire in person and see that it is full extinguished before leaving.
