Being a dad is one of the most important roles there is, and our brigade is lucky to have so many dedicated fathers among our members. ❤️

Full training and ongoing support is provided so you can learn new skills to fulfil a vital role in your community.

🚒 Entrapment Drills 🔥

Last night’s training focused on entrapment drills, preparing our members for the possibility of being caught by a rapidly changing fire.

While getting out of the area is always the priority, there are situations where conditions can change quickly, escape routes can become unsafe, or a fire can behave unexpectedly.

Our crews practise sheltering in the fire truck as a last resort, preparing for situations where a sudden change in fire behaviour means they can no longer safely outrun or escape the fire.

There are thousands of different scenarios that can lead to an entrapment, which is why regular training and preparation are so important as we head into summer.

On the 12th September, Prue and Matt will take on the challenge of climbing 28 floors while wearing full gear, all to raise vital funds to support the fight against cancer, depression and su***de.

Peta has also been participating in the virtual stair climb which started on the 12th of August, where she has been climbing 105 stairs a day to reach her goal of 3249 stairs by the 12th of September.

On Saturday the 18 of July, the Ararat Fire Brigade gathered at the Ararat RSL for our annual dinner.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating the dedication, commitment and achievements of our members, while also acknowledging the incredible support provided by their families. The ongoing encouragement and sacrifices made by our families play a vital role in everything we do, and we are grateful for their unwavering support.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the National Medal, which recognises members who have completed at least 15 years of diligent service in hazardous circumstances, protecting life and property during emergencies and disasters. It honours their long standing commitment, training, and dedication to serving their community.
