🎾💰🏏 REGIONAL SPORTS INFRASTRUCTURE FUND OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS 🎾💰🏏

Local councils and the region’s sporting clubs and associations can now apply for a share of $46 million in funding available from round two of the State Government’s Regional Sport Facility Fund.

The Fund provided grants from $100,000 up to $1 million to eligible sport and recreation organisations and local councils for new and upgraded sports facilities.

This is a great opportunity for our region’s sporting clubs to obtain funding for projects to upgrade and expand existing sporting infrastructure.

By investing in new and existing sports facilities, we can help more people experience the benefits of participating in sport and active recreation and give a springboard to the next generation of Australian sporting stars.

Inclusive projects that encourage the participation of women and girls and people with a disability in sport are also encouraged.

Please don’t miss this chance to secure some cash to upgrade local and regional sports facilities – get your application in right now.

Applications are now open and close on 8 October 2021

For more details and to apply, please visit www.sport.nsw.gov.au/grants

By now you all would have heard that one of our young students at Armidale Secondary College has tested positive to COVID-19. This is now the third positive case in the LGA. As a result, our local test sites are experiencing an increase in volumes of people coming forward for testing. Remember that if you are going to get tested at the Armidale Hospital you will need to book first. For an available time slot call 0427 923 080.

You do not need to make a booking at the drive through test facility at the airport, however keep in mind that the queues can be quite long so take a drink with you and be patient as staff will be doing their very best to get through the volume.

How quickly we get on top of this is up to us. Time and again we have proven just how resilient our community can be, and once again we must tackle this together. The safety and wellbeing of our community is a priority, so please remain vigilant by staying at home. If you must go out for essential items please continue to practice good hygiene and follow the advice of the Public Health Order.
If you are experiencing symptoms or are a close contact we encourage you to get tested as soon as possible.

Lastly, as we progress through this period of home isolation, don’t forget to check in with each other and look out for your fellow neighbour, especially those who are at risk or frail. In doing so, we’ll all get through this safely, together and in the shortest possible time.

Stay safe everyone!
