🥈COMMONWEALTH GAMES SILVER FOR GEMMA! 🥈
What a week it was for NSWCHSSA swimmer Gemma, representing Australia on one of the biggest stages in para swimming — all while still in Year 10!
Gemma has returned from the Commonwealth Games with an incredible silver medal in the 100m Backstroke S9, along with an impressive 5th place in the 100m Breaststroke SB8.
But what has stood out just as much as her performances in the pool has been the person behind the athlete.
Gemma’s post-race interviews captured her pure joy, positivity and love of sport, as well as the genuine support she showed for her fellow Australian teammates. Her attitude, passion and sportsmanship have been fantastic to see and are a wonderful reflection of what school sport is all about.
As a proud NSWCHSSA and Mackellar swimmer, Gemma has represented school sport with distinction, and we couldn't be prouder of her achievements on the international stage.

What an incredible Commonwealth Games campaign for Sienna Toohey!

A huge congratulations to Sienna on an outstanding performance on the international stage, bringing home an incredible medal haul for Australia:

🥈 Silver Medal – 50m Breaststroke
🥉 Bronze Medal – 100m Breaststroke
🥇 Gold Medal – 4 x 100m Medley Relay

From the halls of Albury High School to the Commonwealth Games podium, Sienna has shown determination, dedication and the ability to perform when it matters most.

Your hard work and commitment have inspired so many young athletes across NSW. We are incredibly proud to watch you represent Australia and continue to achieve amazing things.

🏀 Congratulations to Matthew Bishop! 👏

The NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association extends its congratulations to Matthew Bishop from Coolamon Central School, who was proudly presented with his 10 Years of Service Award by School Sport Australia last night at the SSAG04 Games in Melbourne.

This milestone recognises Matthew's outstanding commitment, dedication and contribution to school sport over the past decade. His passion for providing opportunities for students and his ongoing service to basketball and school sport are greatly appreciated.

Congratulations, Matthew, on this well-deserved recognition. Thank you for your continued dedication to school sport and the positive impact you have made on countless students and colleagues.

2026 NSWCHSSA Cross Country Championships!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 NSWCHSSA Cross Country Championships a fantastic way to begin Term 3.

A special thank you to our convenor, organising committee, executive officers, teachers, officials, volunteers, supporters and parents. Events of this scale require an enormous amount of planning and behind-the-scenes work, and your dedication provides incredible opportunities for students across New South Wales.

Congratulations to all competitors for their outstanding effort, determination and sportsmanship throughout the day.
