👨‍🚒 National Volunteer Week 👩‍🚒

Is a time to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, skills and hearts to support our communities. ❤️

At Arno Bay CFS, we are proud to stand beside a dedicated group of volunteers who continue to show up day and night to protect and support our town and surrounding communities.

To our past volunteers thank you for helping build the strong foundation our brigade stands on today. Your hard work, commitment and community spirit will never be forgotten.

To our current volunteers thank you for the sacrifices you make behind the scenes, the training nights, call outs, fundraising, missed family time and the countless hours you give to help others. Our brigade simply would not exist without you.

And to our future volunteers whether you’re thinking about joining as a firefighter, cadet or support member we welcome you. Volunteering is more than just giving your time… it’s about becoming part of a family and making a real difference in your community.

A big welcome to the newest addition to the Arno Bay Brigade fleet, our brand new Quick Response Vehicle (QRV).

This appliance will replace Arno Bay 14, which has proudly served our brigade and community over many years before returning to Region 6 HQ.

We’re incredibly grateful to see continued investment into our brigade, ensuring our volunteers have modern equipment to help keep our community safe. A fantastic addition to the fleet and one we look forward to putting to good use.

Arno Bay took delivery of a new QRV today.

The new Arno Bay QRV is based on a Toyota Landcruiser chassis, is 4 x 4 and carries 550 litres of water.

This QRV is the only one of the batch that has a 4 cylinder engine with a six speed automatic transmission. (All of the other QRV's are V8 diesel with manual transmission.)

Built by Varley Group, it is fitted with a Hatz 1B40 motor / Gaam Mk70 pump.

It includes additional safety features to protect firefighters, including a halo system (water deluge system) and an in-cab breathing system.

It comes fitted with an LED light bar and a Dometic fridge, and equipped with a Stihl chainsaw.

It replaces Isuzu based Arno Bay 14, which will return to Region 6 HQ.

🚨 SIREN TEST NOTICE – ARNO BAY CFS 🚨

Hey everyone,
Just a quick message to let the community know that the siren that sounded at 4:00pm today was only a test there is no emergency.
We do apologise for any confusion or concern this may have caused. Life has been a bit hectic lately and we missed updating our siren testing time when daylight savings ended that one’s on us!

👉 Moving forward:
Our regular siren test will return to 5:00pm on Fridays starting next week.

🔴 Important Reminder:
If there is ever an emergency impacting the township, the siren will sound as a continuous tone not just a short test blast.

🚒 ARNO BAY CFS CADET PROGRAM – NOW RECRUITING 2026 🚒

Do you know a young person who would love to learn firefighting skills, leadership, teamwork and community service?

The Arno Bay CFS Cadet Program is now welcoming new cadets for 2026!

Our cadet program gives young people the opportunity to:

🔥 Learn basic firefighting and emergency response skills.
🔥 Build confidence and leadership
🔥 Develop teamwork and lifelong friendships
🔥 Be part of something bigger by supporting their community.
🔥 Learn valuable life skills in a safe and supportive environment

This program is open to young people aged 11 to 18 years who are keen to learn, challenge themselves and be part of the Country Fire Service family.

📍 Location: Arno Bay CFS Brigade
📅 Starting: Sunday 15th March 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM
📆 Training Days: Sundays fortnightly

Our cadets are mentored by experienced volunteers who are passionate about helping the next generation grow into confident and capable young leaders.

Whether they dream of becoming firefighters one day or simply want to gain confidence and skills This program is an incredible opportunity.

🚒🎅 Santa’s Coming to Arno Bay! 🎅🚒

Arno Bay CFS has some very special visitors this Christmas Eve!

🎅 Santa and his helpers are making a stop in our town on their busiest night of the year!

That’s right — Santa will be riding through the streets of Arno Bay on the back of our fire truck, spreading Christmas cheer, waving to families, and handing out some goodies!

📅 When: Christmas Eve – Wednesday, 24th December

🕔 Time: From 5:00 PM

📍 Where: Around the Arno Bay township

So grab your deck chairs, head to your footpath, and listen out for the CFS sirens, that’s your cue that Santa’s on his way! 🎁
