The current Fire Permit issuing suspension is now lifted for the burning of small piles only (complying with Pile Burn Standards). Permits can only be issued up until midnight on 18th December, and all fire must be OUT by that time. Please note Christmas / New Year suspensions on all Permits as described in Clarence Valley Bush Fire Risk Management Plan.

TOTAL FIRE BAN - FOR SUNDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2020. The banning of lighting or maintaining a fire comes in effect from midnight.

A severe fire danger rating (FDR) has been issued for the Far North Coast Weather area including the Local Government Areas of Ballina, Byron, Clarence Valley, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Tweed.

At Severe FDR - Leaving early is the safest option for survival. Well prepared homes that are actively defended can provide safety - but only if you are physically and mentally prepared to defend in these conditions. If you’re not prepared, leave early in the day.

Hi everyone. Please note the Fire Danger Ratings for the next few days. Based on what is being presented, permits will be suspended on Saturday at a minimum and potential for a Total Fire Ban across a fair area of the State, including the Far North Coast Fire Weather area on Sunday.
