Augusta Volunteer Marine Rescue Group undertook a fundraising workshop last night. It was well attended by 37 members, new members and guests. Murray did a great job facilitating ideas across the tables and prioritising these for the committee to examine. Focus was on the $1million challenge to complete the new building. Thanks to Spencer Signs for supplying Thermometer, and Dale Alcock for kicking this stage of fundraising off with $150,000. See the Augusta-Margaret River Times for more information in National Volunteers Week 18-24th May.

Whilst our main rescue vessel RV Ryall is in Albany for a refit, Margaret River Marine Rescue is on standby with their vessel RV Brems should it be needed. They are a phone call away to drive their vessel to Augusta, and our team will provide a co-pilot and a full crew. On Tuesday 24th March operational skippers and crew members were invited to familiarise themselves with the vessel and its operation. Thanks to MR Commander Darren Johnson for organising this visit, and to Jock from the Margaret River Marine Rescue team for showing us around the boat.
