They are all somebody’s son, daughter, sister, brother, mum, dad, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent, friend, employee, employer, neighbour the list goes on…but together we are Badger Creek CFA. We are all Volunteers, we are all on call 24/7, 365 days a year. We are highly trained and proud to serve our Community of Badger Creek and surrounds.
Why do we do it? Because we care: we care about our Community, our families, our friends, our neighbours and complete strangers. We do it because we want to help others. We belong, we matter, we are a team of ordinary people helping ordinary people in an emergency.
As this National Volunteer Week comes to a close if you haven’t already, take a minute to thank a Vol, regardless of the organisation they belong to, and ask yourself, is this something I could do? Can you “Give us a hand?” Because you can!
There are so many roles that make up a Brigade. Not everyone needs to be ready to jump on a truck and respond to calls; we have non-operational roles that are just as vital.
We want to say “Thank you” to our Community for always supporting us as a Brigade, and thank you to all of our volunteers, to all the people who volunteer in all of the organisations across the Country.
Stay Safe All!
