A productive development day was held earlier this month for D07 Geelong West at VEMTC.

Crews took part in a full program of practical, scenario-based training designed to build capability and confidence across a range of incident types. Activities included fire extinguisher use, forcible entry, skip fire response, care fire, car fire at the bowser and a shed/loading dock fire scenario.

Varied sessions give participants the opportunity sharpen techniques, work as a team and apply their skills in realistic environments. ALL FREE TRAINING FOR VOLUNTEERS.

A well rounded development day for this brigade.

To make the most of their time on the training grounds, CFA District 7 Members Group Bellarine Group implemented a smart approach - running multiple groups of 15 students across both morning and afternoon sessions. The result was a high-impact, hands-on intro to Off-Road experiences.

By splitting into smaller groups, participants gained more time behind the wheel, great access to instructors and a more focused environment to build on skills with the various terrain.

But in true CFA comradery style, we all came together to enjoy lunch for the crossover.

90 Women from Victoria State Emergency Service came together last week for their annual Women In Rescue training day at CFA VEMT Central Highlands. A hands-on, action-packed day of learning and teamwork.

From Search & Rescue, to Road Crash Rescue, Safe Working at Heights, Fire Safety and Incident Management Radio Operations, participants built critical skills across a range of real-world scenarios. The day was made even more dynamic with support form Victoria Mounted Police along with VICPOL and Surf Life Saving helicopter operations.

A powerful day of collaboration, capability, and connection - to show case the strength of women in emergency services.

These sessions are all about revisiting basics with hot fire training, refining techniques, and making sure our responses in low structure environments stay sharp, safe, and effective.
