A Local Recovery Fund is available in the Ballarat region for projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan. Projects will be identified for funding through periodic Request for Proposals (RFP). The Ballarat Local Jobs Program team Margi Cousins & Bec Ware would like to Thank everyone who supported the "Ballarat Jobs Fair" last week.
The Ballarat Local Jobs Fair was a massive success for Ballarat’s jobseekers and employers. With 48 exhibitors and 306 jobseekers registered and attending.
A number of industry focused workshops were well attended on the day by jobseekers, with some of Ballarat’s biggest employers presenting on local employment opportunities, providing jobseekers with the opportunity to interact, connect and network directly with employers.

These sessions were facilitated by Margi Cousins, the local Ballarat Employment Facilitator providing jobseekers with the knowledge about “what employers want.” Focus industries for these presentations included Construction, Trades and Manufacturing, Tourism , Hospitality and the Care Sector.
A Resume hub was available on the day for jobseekers to update their resumes, supported by our Jobs Victoria partners Qualify & Jobs Victoria - Central Highlands Region, Westvic Staffing Solutions - Central Highlands Region, Djerriwarrh and BGT for assisting jobseekers to update their resumes on the day.

Multiple job matches and employment opportunities were created on the day with approximately 1500+ job opportunities available on the “Live Jobs Board.” Jobseekers reported that they have multiple job interview opportunities as result of attending the Jobs Fair.
“A mother with a disabled child said the Jobs Fair changed her life and the benefits for them were tremendous. She wanted to express her gratitude for hosting the event and the support they received from everyone.”

Ballarat Jobs Fair -

The Australian Government is hosting the Ballarat Jobs Fair to bring together job seekers and employers and match job seekers to jobs.

The Jobs Fair will be held on Thursday 28 April 2022 from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm AEST at the Ballarat Showgrounds.

You can meet enthusiastic job seekers to discuss your job vacancies.
If you’re looking for staff, register for today as an exhibitor.
This event will follow the Victorian Government’s COVID Safe Event protocol. All attendees are required to be double vaccinated for COVID-19 and must be prepared to show vaccination status upon entry.
