Introducing our new Team Lead - Engagement, Matt Stevens! We are thrilled to have him join our team in a more permanent role. Matt has been a part of the Premier team since the beginning, working meticulously behind the scenes. After a 12-year tenure at Mars Chocolate, we have enticed him back into a formal role.

Matt has a wealth of expertise in leadership and management, is IAP2 accredited, and has a degree in business and project management. His exceptional ability to manage projects from ideation to completion, coupled with his ability to inspire and motivate teams, has contributed significantly to successful project outcomes across our core industries.

Here are a few fun titbits we know about Matt so far:

🚴 He is ALL about the morning routine, which typically consists of a Mountain 8 in Watopia Zwift ride, a dog walk, and a sauna session, followed by an icy pool plunge.

👔 He admits he needs a dramatic business attire wardrobe upgrade, having been left stranded with only Mars ‘whites’ (company credit card is in your name, isn’t it, Matt? 😉)

👨🏻‍🤝‍👨🏽 He founded' Ballarat's BIGGEST Ever Blokes lunch to encourage conversation and build awareness around men's health. The lunch also raised much-needed funds for related supportive local, state, and national bodies.

🍦Finally, he is a sucker for ice cream with chocolate Ice Magic which he is generously bringing into the office for any of the team who were either living under a rock in the ‘80s or ’90s or who weren’t even born 😆

Matt's passion, adventurous spirit, and dedication to Premier Strategy make him an invaluable addition to our team. We can't wait to see what he accomplishes in this new chapter with us!

Operating in a hybrid era has been an interesting ride as a team that thrives on personal and meaningful connections. So, we were thrilled on Thursday to step out from behind our screens and head into the city to explore Time Rone with a few of our incredible clients, partners, and networks.
 
This spectacular immersive experience provided the perfect backdrop for a night of inspiration and connection. We discussed industry trends, made valuable introductions, caught up with old friends, exchanged long overdue red velvet cakes, bragged about our epic team, spoke of passions, and walked away motivated and fulfilled. And more literally, filled, because what would a trip to Melbourne be without food to write home about and cocktails we can’t pronounce?

Today our team toured the Barron Gorge 66MW hydro project in northern Queensland. It was commissioned in 1963 (before ‘most’ of our team was even born). While significant, this project is much smaller than the proposed large-scale pumped hydro 5GW Pioneer-Burdekin Project.

Hydro energy will play an increasingly important role in Australia's energy mix as the government's target of generating 50% of its electricity from renewables by 2030 ramps up.

Congratulations Megan Franzó! As part of our recent Rise Up strategy day, we held a competition for a team member who consistently embodies Premier Strategy’s core values of being curious, loyal, and real.

Megan only joined Premier five months ago and has made her mark. She is a valuable communications team member and has set an exemplary example of kindness, inclusivity, encouragement, and dedication. Megan is off to see Barack Obama speak in Melbourne as her prize!

As one of our directors said, “we can embody our values individually, but we shine brighter when we do so as a team”. With that in mind, here are some collated sentiments from the applications about the Premier team. Let us introduce you to our newly appointed Head of Communications, Simone Bellears.

The entire team has keenly awaited Simone’s start date, and in the past two weeks, she has already been every bit of the mentor we were eager for.

A few things we have learnt about Simone so far:

🏈 She loves watching sports. A quick LinkedIn stalk taught us she was instrumental in developing the women’s program and establishing the first AFLW team for the Geelong FC!

🎸Her favourite radio station is still Triple J because of their massive support of Aussie artists (Meg Mac and Thelma Plum being her current hot favourites) and for all it teaches her about today’s “young people”.

🚶🏼‍♀️Her favourite thing to do is walk. Preferably with her dogs or any human who is up for a good conversation. We look forward to introducing her to a few laps of Lake Wendouree during her lunch break.

Simone's engaging personality, ability to connect and infectious smile makes her an extremely welcome addition to the team. We cannot wait to see what she achieves on this new adventure with us.
