Community leaders across Ballarat are urging elected officials to demonstrate stronger leadership in addressing disrespectful and gendered behaviour in public office.
Leaders from organisations including CAFS and Allied Justice say public conduct matters, warning that disrespect towards women in leadership roles can shape broader community attitudes and undermine efforts to prevent gendered violence.
They are urging courage, accountability and active allyship to ensure respect is reflected not only in words but also in actions.
