🌱🏆 Yesterday, five members of our Grade 6 Environmental Pillar attended the 2026 ResourceSmart Schools Awards at the MCG, where our school was nominated for Student Action Team of the Year.

Our students proudly represented our school, sharing the incredible sustainability initiatives taking place through our Outdoor Learning program. From caring for animals and plants to leading environmental projects, they showcased the many ways our students make a positive impact each week.

The team also enjoyed exploring other schools’ displays, learning about innovative sustainability projects including recycled plastic creations, beekeeping and habitat restoration.

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school with such passion and enthusiasm. 💚🌿

Thank you Balwyn High School for hosting our Grade 6 students this morning. We loved catching up with and hearing from our former students, and it was incredibly valuable for our students to gain a glimpse into high school life. We appreciate the opportunity to support their transition to secondary school in such a meaningful way.

Growing calm minds 🌿

Today in our Care, Learn and Share groups, students explored how mindfulness and wellbeing can help us feel calm, happy and ready to learn.

Each group created a Calm Classroom Tree, with every student adding a leaf to share something that helps them feel calm and relaxed. From spending time with family and friends to reading, sport and being outdoors, our trees are filled with wonderful reminders of the positive strategies we can use to support our wellbeing.

Hearts by Team 5/6 ❤️💙

Students explored the work of Keith Haring, learning about his life and the messages behind his iconic artwork.

Inspired by Haring’s famous heart motif, students designed their own hearts, incorporating unique patterns, colours and personal touches to create vibrant and expressive pieces of art 💙❤️

This week, we recognise and celebrate National Reconciliation Week and this year’s theme, All In.

“All In” is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day, through listening, learning, respect and action. As a school community, we are proud to continue building understanding and connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures. 🖤💛❤️

Our Year 6 Wellbeing Pillar had a wonderful time teaching our Foundation–Year 2 students how to play hopscotch as part of their Through Generations inquiry topic ❤️

Together, students explored popular games played in the past, while building connections and learning from one another along the way.
