Mad about the state of politics locally, nationally and globally? Same.

There's a 30-year-old people-powered movement in NSW that's been fighting the things that suck about politics since before most of us were paying attention.

We do things differently to the major parties. We refuse corporate donations and actually put people and communities before profits and corporations.

The Greens movement is growing, and it's here in Bankstown. Be a part of it.

$1 million a day for over 1000 years for possibly-maybe-eventually for three, second-hand submarines? Sounds like a scam.

But no, its just the enormous cost that the ALP are willing to pay not to upset a senile malignant narcissist.

Imagine what we could so with this money if we used it to strengthen our communities and resource services rather than feed the USA's war machine.

SINK AUKUS.

If the state of politics is making you mad, good. It should.

The question is what you do next. You can scroll, you can seethe, or you can get involved with people who are actually working to fix it.

The Greens have been doing this for 30 years in NSW. Consistently, and with receipts.

If you're tuned out and tired of the Lib-Lab loop and worried about the rise of the right? We get it.

The Bankstown Greens are here, and we're growing. Will you join us?

What's your favourite thing (new or old) about Bankstown?

As one of the most diverse suburbs in Australia, Bankstown is a place of feverish hope, full of lives built from scratch and cultures fiercely preserved.

When politicians ask what migrants take,
they leave out what they contribute.

Billions in tax.
Every year.

Pauline the numbers don’t support your narrative.

The Bankstown Greens hosted a packed community discussion this evening with guest Senator David Shoebridge to discuss the evolving conflicts in the Middle East, Australia’s role, and how we can make sense of it all.

• Australia is complicit in the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. In particular, our Labor government has been spineless in its support of US aggression against Iran.
• Australia can be a leader to other countries and have the courage to resist the United States.
• We need to disentangle from the US and Australia should withdraw all military support, including US bases on Australian soil.
• We need a two-way arms embargo on Israel and Australia should cease the sale and purchase of weapons to and from Israel.

• We need to redirect public resources away from AUKUS security pact (costing us hundreds of billions of dollars) and invest in the things people actually need, such as public jobs, free public transport, and housing.
• Australia needs to form alliances with our neighbours in the Asia-Pacific who share our values, as clearly the US does not.
• Our defence policy should be the “echidna defence strategy” we become self-reliant, we don’t project force, and we maintain a defensive posture.

• All households are currently impacted by the wars affecting Iran, Lebanon and Palestine, including rising fuel and grocery prices.

We are everyday people and we all have more in common than not. We came together this evening to better understand these issues, explore different perspectives, and take action.

Concerns were also raised regarding the transparency and integrity of the Hunter-class frigates.

Thanks to all who attended!

Happy Easter to everyone in our community 🌿💛

For many, Easter is one of the most important times in the Christian calendar. It marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a story that speaks to hope, renewal, and the triumph of life over death. It is a time of deep faith, reflection, and meaning, centred on compassion, sacrifice, and the call to care for others.

For others, it is a time to slow down, gather with family and friends, and appreciate connection, rest, and the simple joy of being together.

Across all traditions and experiences, Easter offers something we can all share, a reminder of the importance of kindness, community, and looking out for one another, especially in times of challenge.

In a world that can often feel divided or uncertain, these values matter more than ever. Whether you are observing Easter through faith or simply spending time with loved ones, we hope this season brings you peace, strength, and a renewed sense of hope for what lies ahead.

From all of us, wishing you a safe, meaningful, and happy Easter 🕊️
