We are committed to developing and strengthening community partnerships to help keep all Victorians safe during emergencies. A volunteer-based organisation, SES provides emergency assistance to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. SES is the control agency during emergency responses to floods, storms, earthquakes and tsunamis in Victoria, and is the largest provider of road crash rescue in the state. We also assist the Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important support role during major bushfire responses. As well as providing support on the ground, SES plays an important role in assisting municipal councils and their communities with emergency management plans, providing advice, information, education and training. SES members share a dedication to our core values: valuing our people, commitment, trust, a community focus and integrity.

🔸️ SES Bannockburn Unit at the Geelong Show!🔸️

Today, three of our Bannockburn SES Unit members had the pleasure of supporting our valued sponsors, AAMI , at the Geelong Show!

Throughout the day, our members enjoyed chatting with members of the public about the importance of being prepared for storms and floods, sharing helpful tips on how to protect their homes and families.

We also loved engaging with the younger members of the community, teaching them about the important role SES plays in keeping our community safe. 🌧️🌊

It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces, with the kids especially loving the boat with its flashing lights and sirens! 🚤🚨

We hope everyone who stopped by walked away with a better understanding of what SES does and how they can be better prepared for severe weather events.

A big thank you to AAMI for having us along, and to everyone who came over for a chat. We had a great day connecting with our community! We're are there until Sunday, go check it out!!

🔶️🔶️🔶️The volunteers at Bannockburn SES are very grateful for a $10,000 donation from a generous benefactor John Fraser, offered towards our new Unit setup expenses. John is a resident within Bannockburn SES response area and offered his help when we were lobbying for build funding in 2023.

The new Bannockburn SES Unit construction is progressing well and our volunteers had the opportunity to walk through recently. John's donation will assist us to kit out our kitchen, cleaning supplies, gardening equipment and workshop. We truly appreciate your generosity John. 🙏

The new Bannockburn SES Unit will comfortably accommodate 50 volunteer members. If you’ve ever considered volunteering in your community we are always accepting expressions of interest for emergency operational members and support members. Link below.

Bannockburn SES Unit will soon purchase and fit out a new Rescue Support Vehicle, costing our local Unit in excess of $100,000. We're asking help from our Golden Plains residents in achieving a $50,000 fundraising target. Can you contribute towards Half a Million Cans for Bannockburn SES?
